Looking for a getaway resource planner to the Pacific Northwest? Then you've
come to the right place. Whether your favorite slice of paradise is a

Amazing Getaways is your
home-base for Fun Day Trips, Outdoor Adventures and Great Escapes of every kind
including Golf Retreats,
Fishing Charters and helpful
Travel Tips. Our purpose
at Amazing Getaways is to lead you to some of the best accommodations and
attractions the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Your guide here is Northwest travel author and radio personality, Wende Meister - known as the voice of
"The Seattle Scout" from 1990 - 1998 on Seattle's ABC affiliate KOMO Talk AM 1000.
Many of the inns, resorts and great escapes you'll find on our website were
featured during Wende's weekday reports or her national travel show for the
station called "JUSTGO" which aired Saturday mornings. Currently Wende
hosts a weekly syndicated show called
WEEKENDS
AROUND THE NORTHWEST which
is heard through out the state of Washington.
Through exposure on our website
and weekly radio show,
many of these getaways have already been discovered and featured on popular
Northwest television shows and publications - including KING 5's Evening
Magazine during a special annual edition of Great Escapes. Several of
the golf courses listed on our section
Northwest Golf Gallery
were featured in the annual Northwest Golf Guide Wende wrote for Seattle
Magazine.
Our Recommendations
We're proud to say our recommendations are backed by over 20 years travel
experience in the Pacific Northwest. During this time we have explored thousands
of getaways in and around Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia. You
might even say we wrote the book on the subject. Many of the romantic getaways
on the website have been featured in Wende's travel
book series, Sweethearts' Getaway Guide of the Northwest. The newest
discoveries are included in the 2nd edition.
Another great traveling resource for this area is Weekends For Two In The
Pacific Northwest published by Chronicle Books. Travel writer Bill Gleeson
of California and photographer Stewart Hopkins of Seattle have compiled a
treasure trove of b&b's, inns and small hotels that beckons you out of town
this weekend if not sooner. The wonderful exterior and interior photographs
of the locations ease a traveler's mind as to what's in store before
arriving. The book is available at all major booksellers and online.
More of Stewart's photography can be found by clicking on the book icon or
going to www.hopkinsphoto.com. He can be reached in Seattle at
425.398.5939. Call him to discuss a project or request a portfolio.
